Communication is a necessity of life. How and why you communicate reflects your character, that inward part of who you are. It also affects the quality of your life. How you communicate with others (the attitudes and words that you employ) and why you communicate with others – these things make a difference in the trajectory of your life, and are reflective of the closeness of your walk with the Lord! If I were to ask you to review your last week and to rate yourself on your communication with your spouse or coworkers or other people you have encountered in the day to day activities of your life, on a scale of 1-10, what would you rate yourself? In that rating, did you consider your motives for communicating? Did you speak from selfish ambition, brotherly love, or something else? What would a wise person’s motive for communicating be?
