ABOUT US
"We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ."
Colossians 1:28
We truly feel that Colossians 1:28 expresses what we here at Friendship Baptist Church are all about. Each time the doors open and we get together to serve Jesus, our goal is to help each other grow, together as his united body, so that each part, each person, each member, knows – and learns to daily walk in – the fullness and joy of Jesus Christ!
We would love to have you join us in this purpose and goal.
But we also recognize that the goal of “admonishing… and teaching every man” pushes us beyond the comfort of our building and out into the huge world beyond our walls. Every person we encounter needs to meet Jesus and grow to be complete in Him. So, don’t be surprised when we ask if you know Jesus!
It’s why we are here – to make sure we all do.
OUR BELIEFS
First Priorities
At Friendship Baptist Church, we believe the Bible first above all.
Growing Together
We strive to become more like Christ each and every day - together.
What is more, John 17:17 reminds us that this word of truth is what sanctifies us – what sets us apart and refines us to be more like Christ. Isn’t that what we are all pursuing together – conformity to the image of Christ (Rom 8:28-29; Col 3:1-4, 10)? We pray so!
As a general summary of more specific believes, we agree with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message statement, which can be found through the link below.

Our Staff
Kent Ashley
Pastor
Kent Ashley grew up overseas as the son of Wycliffe Bible Translator missionaries, but now lives in Campbellsville, Kentucky, with his wife of twelve years, Stacey, and their five children. He represents the fourth generation in a lineage of ministers and missionaries, but for many years he was unsure of his calling. From his experiences living in the South Pacific and the Bahamas, to Texas, Tennessee, and the rolling hills of Central Kentucky, the Word of God has always held the central position in his heart. He was a successful photographer in Lexington, Kentucky, for a decade until the Lord called him into pastoral ministry at Friendship Baptist Church in Campbellsville. He earned his M.Div. in Pastoral Studies through Moody Theological Seminary. Now he loves serving his community and teaching the Word of God at every opportunity, all for the good of God’s people and the increase of God’s glory.
Dr. Jamie Killion
Music Minister
We are thrilled to have Dr. Killion leading our music ministry! As a Professor of Voice at Campbellsville University, and with many years experience in church music ministry, Jamie applies a rich musical expertise and deep hunger for the Lord in developing our music ministry. His ability to unite deep Biblical theology with truly excellent musical leadership has been such a blessing to our fellowship!
Ashley Wise
Children's Ministry Director
Ashley leads our fantastic team of children's ministry volunteers. We have a great group of children who join us to worship Jesus each week, and we are thrilled to provide them with a fun and safe environment where we can help them learn how to love Jesus more.
