Have you ever wished you had a system of measurement that you could hold up to your life and use to evaluate your progress and growth as a disciple of Christ? Throughout his first New Testament letter, Peter has been focused on the disciple-making task, and while he’s not given us a clear cut tape measure by which we can gauge how far we’ve come, in a way he has outlined for us a series of developments that the Christian disciple moves into as he or she becomes more Christlike. Now that we are approaching the end of our study of 1 Peter, we can step back from the verse-by-verse process and examine the big picture of these discipleship developments.
